How to register

Before you register, please read this Important IELTS Information.

We recommend you register for an IELTS exam at least 5 weeks in advance. Places are limited and are on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Online Registration

We are now accepting online bookings for IELTS exams. Click here to apply online.

Online registration will entitle you to a free 30-hour online preparation course called Road to IELTS . It will also allow you to check your results online for up to 35 days after they are released.

Online Registration is easy. Just follow these four steps:

Step 1: Fill out the online registration form.

Step 2: Transfer the test fee of €190 to our bank account. You will receive the bank account details in an automatic email after you apply online. Please remember to write your name as the reference for the transfer so that we can identify your payment.

Alternatively you can send a cheque or postal order (from Irish banks or institutions only) made payable to Centre of English Studies or you can print off and complete our credit/debit card authorisation form.

Step 3: Email scanned copies or post photocopies of these documents:

- A copy of the identity document you will use on the test day. The ID document must be either a valid passport or National Identity Card from a European Union country.

- Two passport-size photographs. The photographs must be in colour, no older than six months and you should sign the back. (If sending a scanned copy by email, one photograph is sufficient and please use your full name as the file name for the photograph).

You can email scanned documents to ielts@ces-schools.com

For photocopies, please post or drop in to:

Examinations Manager, Centre of English Studies, 31, Dame Street, Dublin 2, (Ireland)

Step 4: Once we have received the payment and documents, we will send you a confirmation email. Please note that it can take up to one week to process your application. Approximately one week before the test date, we will send a second email with all test times and information you need. To save paper, we prefer to send emails rather than letters. If you wish to recieve a written letter, please contact the office.

Note: The speaking test can take place within 7 days before or 7 days after the main test date. If you have a special request - such as a speaking test on the main test day - please contact the office. Although we will do our best to accommodate you, we cannot guarantee that we can schedule a speaking test at your preferred time.

Note: Please check your email inbox and junk mail inbox regularly. You may also wish to list our email address ielts@ces-schools.com as ‘not junk mail' or ‘safe' in your email provider's settings.

Paper Applications

You can also register for an IELTS test with CES either in person or by post with a paper application form. If you would like to register in person, please come to Centre of English Studies on 31 Dame Street, Dublin 2. The office hours are 8.30 to 17.00, Monday to Friday. Please note that the IELTS office is sometimes closed on the Monday after a Saturday IELTS test.

You can download this application form and send it to:

Examinations Manager, Centre of English Studies, 31, Dame Street, Dublin 2, (Ireland)

IELTS is not recommended for under 16's.  If the applicant is under 16, please contact the test centre separately for a consent form. Failure to do so may result in an application being rejected
